One way of developing some of the basic classical positions is to contend that sex is morrally permissible ONLY if it occurs within the experience of love and intimacy. This review of sex removes the typical “you can have sex only when you’re married,” in which I generally support but that doesn’t mean I look down on those who chose to have sex before marriage. It removes the restriction of ceremonial marriage but replaces it with a deeper view of the necessity of mutul trust, acceptance, and reciprocal sharing or innermost thoughts. Love and intimacy, although a part of a successful marriage, are not logicaly necessary for or confined to marriages.

This position is supported by two main allegations: a view of human nature that suggest that sex is a paramount humany actiive reflective of those aspects of personality closet to our being: and a claim that sex without love debases and ultimately fragments human personality. This approach is animate by the impulse to evade the alleged dehumanizing effects of mechanical. merely promiscuous sex and, instead, to exalt sex as the most intimate physical expression of the human self - an act worthy of special concern because of its unique effects on our existential intergrity. 

Various modifications occur within this approach. Some proponents would contend that the requisite love and intimacy must be exclusive. Thus, morally, permissible sex my occur with only one other person; but even here successive sexual interactions which involve love would be morally permissible. other proponents argue that sex may be non-exclusive because a person is capable of simultaneously loving more than one other person. Hence, simultaneous love liaisons could be morally acceptable. 

Though I typically love the idea of waiting until marriage to have sex, I know not everyone follows my love for this, but I hope they are at least following this general assumption of mine, that they love the person they are having or had sex with. I want to believe that if people are having sex, they are either married to that person, or they love that person and that a world of promiscuous sex fails to exist. I know this not true.

Sex without love or intimacy is morally impermissible.
